I loved the movies of Esther Williams

I loved the movies of Esther Williams, originally uploaded by Amsterdamned!.

When I saw this girl at a beach in Thailand, I suddenly remembered how much I loved in my childhood the movies of Esther Williams.
In a split second I was back in the cinema and saw my father sitting next to me….he liked her movies too :)

Esther Williams was famous as Hollywood’s mermaid, the movie star who swam her way to popularity in MGM movies. For ten years (1950-1960) she was a huge star at the box-office, and outgrossed several more famous actresses by a large margin.

I was crazy enough to buy a crapload of cotton from the grocery, heh. Putting them in strings and taping those strings to the ceiling were more work than necessary, though :/ They kept falling after how many minutes. So, I don’t like my pose here, really (I was sitting down and bending slightly), but this is the only picture that came out wherein the “clouds” looked good :P Oh and those stars are cut outs. Stars are hard to do cut outs of.

One of my favs from 2006, an extremely high detailed capture of the FPSO(floating production, storage and offloading) vessel parked near my apt at the Hyundai Shipyard. The engineers were pulling another all-nighter because the lights were on at 1am when this shot was taken.
