I loved the movies of Esther Williams

When I saw this girl at a beach in Thailand, I suddenly remembered how much I loved in my childhood the movies of Esther Williams.
In a split second I was back in the cinema and saw my father sitting next to me….he liked her movies too :)

Esther Williams was famous as Hollywood’s mermaid, the movie star who swam her way to popularity in MGM movies. For ten years (1950-1960) she was a huge star at the box-office, and outgrossed several more famous actresses by a large margin.

I noticed that nobody has submitted a silhouette yet, so let me be the first (hopefully). Obviously this isn’t me. It’s julie, a very good friend of mine. We had this shot at Potipot together with other shadow and silhouette shots (hopefully you guys aren’t tired of browsing my Potipot pictures). I had some, but I’m more confident of sharing this one.

The Shell

This image was taken on the western side of Fraser Island – the largest Sandpit in the World. The sand here is very soft and boggy at some places no surprise I found this magic crack in the sand to compose this image.
Taken with the Canon Angle Finder C and my belly was covered with sand….not a comfortable position to shoot when it’s hot and humid. But who cares…you can not see this in the shot so it’s still worth the extra effort
